Marking a new chapter in Indonesia’s luxury MPV segment, the GWM Wey G9 Hi4 is offered with two powertrain options: Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). Both variants feature GWM’s proprietary Hi4 technology, an intelligent hybrid-based all-wheel-drive system developed in-house by GWM. With its PHEV variant, the GWM Wey G9 Hi4 also becomes the first luxury MPV in Indonesia to feature this technology.

A MASTERPIECE FOR EVERY PASSENGER
The GWM Wey G9 Hi4 is designed around one principle: every passenger is a VIP. All three rows feature business-class seating, not just the front row, ensuring that every seat feels exceptional. The second row is equipped with floating zero-gravity seats upholstered in NAPPA leather, complete with massage and ventilation functions, delivering executive-level comfort.
With the most spacious passenger cabin in its class and a flat cabin floor, the GWM Wey G9 Hi4 provides maximum room for both family journeys and business travel. Its cabin offers library-level quietness, complemented by a 21-speaker audio system and a 14.6-inch central control display. Foldable tables integrated into the seatbacks provide a practical space for working or dining on the go. Exclusively on the PHEV variant, a cooling and heating box is also available to further enhance comfort throughout the journey.
LUXURY THAT GOES ANYWHERE
What sets the GWM Wey G9 Hi4 apart is its ability to bring luxury to every journey. Both the HEV and PHEV variants share the same vehicle dimensions and are equipped with Hi4 technology — Hybrid Intelligent 4WD — an intelligent all-wheel-drive system that seamlessly combines electric and gasoline power while adjusting power distribution according to driving needs.
The GWM Wey G9 Hi4 HEV is supported by a 1.67 kWh battery and delivers a maximum system output of 263 kW with 782 Nm of torque. With an average fuel consumption of approximately 15 km/litre, the HEV variant offers a balance of strong performance and efficiency for a wide range of journeys.
Meanwhile, the GWM Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV delivers a maximum system output of 325 kW with 642 Nm of torque. For everyday urban driving, the PHEV variant can travel fully on electric power for up to 170 km without using a drop of fuel, while its total driving range exceeds 1,000 km on a full charge and refuelling — from daily commutes to cross-province journeys. Fuel efficiency is rated at up to 83.33 km/litre*.
For the GWM Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV, charging is designed to offer flexibility. DC fast charging of up to 60 kW enables charging from 30–80% in approximately 26 minutes while on the road, while 6.6 kW AC charging provides a more economical option for home charging. The 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function also turns the PHEV into a portable power source to support a variety of outdoor activities. Across both variants, the Hi4 system is engineered to deliver the appropriate traction and power distribution for different driving conditions.
